Mission
Local 889 holds a charter under the Canadian Union of Public Employees and was formed to:
- To increase the social and economic well-being of its members;
- Promote the equality of its members and oppose all forms of harassment and discrimination;
- Promote the efficiency of public services;
- Affirm the importance of the unity of the trade union movement.
